Clifford Thames are delighted to announce a sponsorship deal with Oxford United Football Club (OUFC).
The three-year deal offers an extensive list of benefits to the wider community and staff and includes, amongst other things:
• Sponsorship of the community match-day mascots (see below for story)
• An open training day for up to fifty local children
• ‘Community’ Season tickets. to be donated to Fostering and Adoption Oxfordshire and The Oxford Children’s Hospital.
We have already sponsored the Oxford United Football Club Golf day on 26th October which raised in excess of £5,000 for Oxford United Football Clubs Community Trust which is used for good causes throughout the county.
CEO, Calvin Barnett says,
“We chose sponsorship of Oxford United as I was impressed with what they are trying to achieve. They are creating something very special both on and off the pitch. Their support of the wider business and local communities coupled with the extensive benefits they offer charities, makes them an ideal partner for Clifford Thames. Oxford's automotive heritage and location is also a great fit for Clifford Thames and our customers, we’re really looking forward to supporting the team in the seasons ahead.”
Our UK headquarters have an established relationship with Farleigh Hospice in Chelmsford. Through Farleigh we organised for local boy, Owen Lawrence to be the OUFC Mascot. Owen, who lost his father and is part of the ‘Yo-Yo’ bereavement support project, was Club Mascot for the away match with Leyton Orient FC on October 17th. Owen’s Mum, Gaynor, sent the following e-mail expressing her gratitude to us:
“I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your kindness and generosity.
Being a mascot absolutely made Owen’s day (his friend was very excited too), and I think you will agree you made very special memories for a little boy who has really found the last year very tough indeed.
I just wanted to let you know that I so appreciate how special you made him feel, and you made his (and my) day. Thank you”.
