The past few weeks have been rife with charitable fundraising at Clifford Thames. In addition to the success of the Krakow business run we have volunteered, played, voted and guessed all to help raise both funds and awareness for charity.

At our annual summer BBQ we threw wet sponges at Board members, held a penalty shootout with Oxford United Football Club players, guessed the number of sweets in a tub and the balloons in a car, held a bad shirt fashion parade and award ceremony and a mini-games competition raising in excess of £1,100 which goes to our chosen charity, Essex Dementia Care.

We also sent a team of volunteers along to Camp Mohawk which is a multi-functional day centre for children with special needs and their families, near Reading to help with maintenance.

Perhaps the most daring of all of our charitable efforts to date is the “Bare 5k” one of our senior staff members took part in to raise funds for Essex Dementia Care. James Farthing ran the Naturist Foundation’s BH5K in just over 20 minutes totally nude (aside from his trainers)! Raising over £500 James is pleased that he can tick this off his bucket list but probably won’t be running another anytime too soon!

Our people are what make Clifford Thames so unique. Supporting causes that are important to our staff whilst they enjoy themselves really helps breed an exceptional company culture
